John Courtmanche

John Courtmanche brings unique experience as an experienced strategic communications and marketing professional, storyteller and author. His engagements span top global and national brands across sectors—education, non-profit, government, business, health, science, tech and entertainment. He has created and directed large-scale creative, multichannel campaigns.

In various roles as a journalist, PR professional, and storyteller, Courtmanche has placed stories with leading media both nationally and overseas. As a reporter, he covered science, tech, media, marketing, entertainment and more.

His media producing and writing experience includes creating and directing the YouTube series Veterinarians On Call in 18 states with millions of viewers; Rocky Mountain Vets TV pilot at Colorado State University for Essex Television (Chasing Classic Cars); three national PBS prime-time specials – Festival of Dreams documenting the lives of adults with mental retardation training for Special Olympics, Glenn Miller’s Greatest Hits starring Kathie Lee Gifford, and New Year’s Eve with Guy Lombardo. He created and produced SportsKabob comedy show for Madison Square Garden TV Network and Caroline’s Comedy Club.  He produced the Showtime Networks feature film The Other Side of the Tracks aka The Haunting of Amelia starring Brendan Fehr and Chad Lindberg with producers Howard and Karen Baldwin and writer-director A.D. Calvo.

Courtmanche was the writer of the Lighting Up Fifth UNICEF benefit TV special in NYC hosted by Barry Bostwick and Liv Tyler and Mayor Michael Bloomberg, with performances by Kelly Rowland and the cast of Broadway’s Hairspray.

Courtmanche holds a master’s degree in communications with a concentration in film/video production from New York University, an executive education certificate in crisis leadership from Harvard Kennedy School, and a bachelor's in English Writing from Fairfield University. He is an alumnus of the BMI Musical Theatre Workshop. He has served as a judge of the national Emmy Awards for news and documentary programs.
